Reread John 13:1-20. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to stir faith and joy in your heart towards God. Stop and intentionally worship God in response to what is revealed about God in this passage.
Your God & King stepped down from his throne, changed into slave clothes, was humiliated on the cross so he could serve you, save you, wash you, give you an example, and send you as a “foot-washing” servant and a messenger for him!

What in this passage is helping you see where you’re in need of spiritual formation (growing into the image of Christ)?
Do you see God as One who comes to you to serve you? When he comes to you to serve you, is he met with surrender?
How does this passage change the way you might share the gospel.
Consider the way that you respond and interact with the “dirt” of others. What does it tell you about the way that you see God interacting with yours. Do you see yourself “reaching for the basin & towel”, or are you only reaching for the door?
Is your relationship with God defined by what you do for him or what he does for you?
What are some practical ways that you can “wash the feet” of your brother or sister in Christ?

Is the Holy Spirit prompting obedience from you this week? Tell someone and ask them to hold you accountable.
Read verses 14 & 15, pray, and write down a few ways that you plan to serve a brother or sister this week.
