Listen

rejoice

  • Reread John 12:12-17. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to stir faith and joy in your heart towards God. Stop and intentionally worship God in response to what is revealed about God in this passage.

  • Read verse 9. Let your heart and mind dwell on the wonders of the trinitarian headwaters by which the grace of God comes to us; That the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are a vibrant eternal community with perfect friendship, fellowship, and love. Then Christ came into the flesh to bring us into that community and reflect that community.

reflect

  • What in this passage is helping you see where you’re in need of spiritual formation (growing into the image of Christ)?

  • Are you experiencing real commonality (koinania) with other Christians beyond the surface level?

  • Are you being honest with other Christian friends?

  • Is the fruit of mutual charity coming from your life through serving others Christians?

respond

  • Is the Holy Spirit prompting obedience from you this week? Tell someone and ask them to hold you accountable.

  • Is God calling you into a deeper commitment of friendship and fellowship with other Christians? How can you obey him this week?

read ahead (next week)!

What’s the purpose of this page?

In hearing the weekly Sunday sermons, the seeds of the word of God are being sown in your heart.

We aim to help you water that seed so that you may bear the fruit that comes from repentance and belief in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ.

You may use this privately, with your family, for midweek groups, or an impromptu Bible study with a friend.
